Kevin Nolan set for home dugout debut after winning start at the weekend

26 January 2016

Kevin Nolan is preparing to take charge of his first home game as Leyton Orient's new player-manager on Tuesday evening, following a winning start at Wycombe Wanderers.

The former Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and West Ham United midfielder made his dugout debut at the weekend and began with all three points at Adams Park in an impressive 2-0 win.

Leading scorer Jay Simpson and loanee Calaum Jahraldo-Martin struck in the second half to give the visitors maximum points which puts the O's eighth in Sky Bet League 2.

Nolan takes charge at the Matchroom Stadium for the first time on Tuesday evening as Orient entertain Newport County and he's hoping a good run will propel the club into a Play-Off position.

Speaking to Orient PlayerHD he said: "I'm looking forward to a tough game against Newport. What I've learned is that the boys can take things on board very quickly and bit by bit we are starting to implement new things.

"We want to strive forward and get into those Play-Off positions and get into League 1 which is the ultimate aim this year."

Orient haven't won back-to-back fixtures since the end of August but if they can secure all three points they will climb to sixth in the league table, above Accrington Stanley and AFC Wimbledon.
