Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 31 review

13 February 2016

Northampton Town maintained their grip at the top of the table on a goal-filled day in Sky Bet League 2.

The Cobblers were 4-0 victors at Leyton Orient - their seventh successive league triumph - and that kept them five points ahead of second-placed Plymouth Argyle, who saw off Mansfield Town 3-0.

Oxford United, in third, were another team to hit four in a comfortable win, as were Accrington Stanley and AFC Wimbledon, while fifth-placed Portsmouth managed three against Bristol Rovers, in a 3-1 victory.

Wycombe Wanderers, meanwhile, sit fourth after beating Exeter City 1-0.

At the other end of the table, York City moved off the bottom by recording a 2-1 win against Notts County - the same scoreline Hartlepool achieved against Yeovil in Craig Hignett’s first match as manager.

Dagenham now prop up the standings having lost 2-0 to Barnet, to extend their wait for a home win in 2015/16.
