Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 31 preview

12 February 2016

The chase for promotion continues in Sky Bet League 2 this weekend with four of the top seven teams colliding on Matchday 31.

League leaders Northampton Town, who have scored in 24 consecutive games, travel to the Matchroom Stadium to take on Leyton Orient while Mansfield Town, unbeaten in four, travel to Plymouth Argyle.

Here's a full list of the fixtures taking place in Sky Bet League 2 this weekend - all are 3pm kick-offs unless stated otherwise:

Newport County v Carlisle United (1pm)
Accrington Stanley v Crawley Town
AFC Wimbledon v Luton Town
Dagenham & Redbridge v Barnet
Hartlepool United v Yeovil Town
Leyton Orient v Northampton Town
Morecambe v Oxford United
Plymouth Argyle v Mansfield Town
Portsmouth v Bristol Rovers
Stevenage v Cambridge United
Wycombe Wanderers v Exeter City
York City v Notts County

Craig Hignett makes his dugout debut in a crucial game at the bottom of the table - Hartlepool take on Yeovil at Victoria Park with both teams narrowly above the relegation places.

The club parted company with Ronnie Moore earlier in the week having won just twice in 12 games.

The two teams below them are both at home, as Dagenham & Redbridge take on Barnet looking for their first home win of the season while York welcome Notts County to Bootham Crescent.

Oxford United remain in the automatic promotion places and they can cement their position with victory over Morecambe at the Globe Arena.

Portsmouth have slipped out of the top seven but will go above fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol Rovers if they can clinch victory at Fratton Park, while Accrington lock horns with Crawley Town.

Elsewhere, Newport take on Carlisle in the early kick-off at Rodney Parade, AFC Wimbledon face Luton, Wycombe play Exeter and Stevenage entertain Cambridge.
