Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 32 review

20 February 2016

Wigan Athletic extended their unbeaten run to 11 games to move into the automatic promotion places in Sky Bet League 1.

Yanic Wildschut struck in stoppage time to clinch all three points for the Latics in a 2-1 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Walsall.

As a result, Gary Caldwell's men go above both the Saddlers and Gillingham, who slipped to third following a 2-1 defeat at Oldham Athletic.

Millwall kept up the pressure on the sides above them with a 3-0 victory over Peterborough United, Steve Morison bagging a brace in the process.

Sheffield United moved up to seventh with a 1-0 win over Port Vale, who fell behind Barnsley in the table; the Tykes coming out on top in the South Yorkshire derby against Doncaster Rovers.

Bradford City drew 2-2 with Rochdale while Fleetwood Town moved out of the relegation places at the expense of Shrewsbury Town, with a vital 2-1 win over Scunthorpe United.

Bury put in a fantastic display to come from 2-0 down to defeat Colchester United 5-2 at Gigg Lane. Andrew Tutte scored a hat-trick for the Shakers, a feat matched by Nicky Ajose in Swindon's 3-2 win over Blackpool.

Elsewhere, Chesterfield beat Crewe Alexandra 3-1 to bring their five game winless run to a halt, while Southend defeated table-toppers Burton 3-1 on Monday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
