Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 31 Review

13 February 2016

Gillingham ended Barnsley’s winning run to move back into the automatic promotion places in Sky Bet League 1 on Matchday 31.

Bradley Dack got the winning goal as Justin Edinburgh’s side recorded a 2-1 win at Priestfield, taking advantage of slip ups elsewhere as Walsall drew 1-1 at Crewe Alexandra, while Wigan Athletic drew a blank against Oldham Athletic at the DW Stadium.

The result of the day occurred at the Ricoh Arena, where Coventry City ran riot by sticking six past Bury without reply, ending their five-match winless run by doing so.

Millwall maintained sixth position by beating Rochdale 1-0 at Spotland and went three points clear of Southend United, who slipped to a 1-0 loss at Scunthorpe United.

Sheffield United moved up to eighth with a 1-0 win at Doncaster Rovers; Port Vale stay ninth after drawing 0-0 with Fleetwood Town, but Peterborough United drop to 10th after losing 4-0 at home to Bradford City, who are now level on points with the Posh.

Elsewhere, Swindon Town beat Colchester United 4-1 and Shrewsbury Town defeated Blackpool 3-2 at Bloomfield Road.
