There are nine fixtures taking place across the Football League on Tuesday evening, four of which are in the Sky Bet Championship.
Here’s a look at the midweek schedule:Tuesday 2nd February
Sky Bet Championship
Derby County v Preston North End
Ipswich Town v Reading
Sheffield Wednesday v Burnley
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Bolton Wanderers
Sky Bet League 1
Doncaster Rovers v Walsall
Port Vale v Swindon Town
Shrewsbury Town v Southend United
Sky Bet League 2
Luton Town v Yeovil Town
Morecambe v Portsmouth
With Hull City and Middlesbrough not in action, Burnley have the opportunity to reduce the gap at the top of the Sky Bet Championship.
The Clarets are unbeaten in five but face a tricky trip to Sheffield Wednesday, who haven’t lost at home since 29th August. A win for the hosts would propel the Owls back into a Play-Off position, while maximum points for Sean Dyche’s men will see Burnley go within two points of the Tigers at the top of the table.
Should Burnley slip up, then Derby County could climb back up to third if they can overcome Preston North End at the iPro Stadium. The Rams have won the last four meetings between the two sides but haven’t won in the League since Boxing Day.
Ipswich Town, without a win in three, entertain Reading at Portman Road while Wolverhampton Wanderers host Bolton Wanderers at Molineux.
In Sky Bet League 1, Walsall can move up to second in the table with a win over Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium, while Darren Ferguson’s men will move to within five points of the Play-Offs if they can clinch victory.
Port Vale, unbeaten in eight at home, lock horns with Swindon Town, while Shrewsbury take on Play-Off chasing Southend United at Greenhous Meadow.
There are just two midweek games in Sky Bet League 2, with Luton Town hosting a Yeovil side boosted by Saturday's 3-2 away win at AFC Wimbledon, and Portsmouth taking on Morecambe at the Globe Arena.
