Sky Bet Championship: Matchday 30 preview

5 February 2016

The bottom four sides meet this weekend on what's sure to be another entertaining weekend of Sky Bet Championship action.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford get things started in a Friday night clash live on Sky Sports, there's a big battle towards the top of the table and an intriguing storyline at the Riverside.

Here are all the fixtures in Matchday 30, all of which kick-off at 3pm unless stated otherwise:

Friday 5th February

Brighton & Hove Albion v Brentford (7:45pm - live on Sky Sports)

Saturday 6th February

Birmingham City v Sheffield Wednesday
Bolton Wanderers v Rotherham United
Burnley v Hull City
Cardiff City v Milton Keynes Dons
Charlton Athletic v Bristol City
Fulham v Derby County
Leeds United v Nottingham Forest
Middlesbrough v Blackburn Rovers
Preston North End v Huddersfield Town
Queens Park Rangers v Ipswich Town
Reading v Wolverhampton Wanderers

It's a big week for the division's bottom four in the battle for survival.

Basement side Bolton play host to Rotherham, who sit 21st and outside the bottom three on goal difference only, while Charlton take on Bristol City.

Out of the other sides towards the wrong end of the table, MK Dons could find themselves in the drop zone by the close of play - they face a tricky trip to Cardiff - and Fulham welcome fourth-placed Derby to Craven Cottage.

Blackburn are five points clear of safety and begin life without top scorer Jordan Rhodes, after the striker sealed a Deadline Day move to Middlesbrough. And where do Rovers go this weekend? To the Riverside of course, where the Scottish international is in line to make his debut.

The two clubs either side of second-placed Boro - Burnley and Hull - face off at Turf Moor with the Clarets currently four points adrift of the league leaders.

The Play-Off race continues with two teams on the fringe of the top six locking horns this weekend, when Birmingham take on Sheffield Wednesday. Both sides sit on 47 points and have their eyes on Ipswich and Brighton above them – the Tractor Boys are away at QPR, while the Seagulls play Brentford in the aforementioned clash on Sky Sports.

Elsewhere, Preston and Reading play host to Huddersfield and Wolves respectively, while Leeds and Nottingham Forest go head-to-head at Elland Road.
