Have your say! Capital One Cup Team of the Tournament

11 February 2016

We want to hear from you, the fans, as we select our Capital One Cup Team of the Tournament!

This year's competition has been thrilling from the off, and we're now in the process of selecting our best XI and a manager to make a Team of the Tournament ahead of the Final on 28th February.

The team will be announced on the day of the Wembley showdown – here's a few players you may want to keep in mind...

Hat-trick heroes

A number of players have hit trebles in the Capital One Cup this year including Tom Bradshaw (Walsall), Jermain Defoe (Sunderland), Scott Sinclair (Aston Villa), Dwight Gayle (Crystal Palace) and Divock Origi (Liverpool).

Scintillating semi-final comeback

Manchester City performed a thrilling comeback to see off Everton in the semi-finals, and that was largely down to Kevin De Bruyne.

The 24-year-old scored and set up another, taking his Capital One Cup goal tally to five for the campaign and sending City to Wembley.

Double trouble

Southampton thumped Milton Keynes Dons 6-0 in Round 3 with three players at the double for the Saints.

Jay Rodriguez, Sadio Mane and Shane Long all scored twice as the Saints thrashed the Dons – three of many players to score two in a match during the competition.

Wonderful Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday were one of the stand-out teams in the competition and, in particular, their Portuguese forward Lucas Joao.

The 22-year-old scored in the First Round against Mansfield Town and also in Round 4 against Arsenal, when he played a huge part in the Owls' memorable 3-0 success over the Gunners.
