Brighton were rarely troubled by Brentford, and wrapped up the all three points in second-half stoppage time, with Jamie Murphy cooly slotting past David Button.
The win was the third on the bounce for Chris Hughton’s side, who move up to third in the standings, two points behind second-placed Middlesbrough.
