Hull City striker Abel Hernandez has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for January.Now fully adjusted to life in the Sky Bet Championship, the Uruguayan was the focal point of a dominant Hull attack as they went top.
His six goals in four games included a thrilling hat-trick in the 6-0 romp against Charlton Athletic.
Hull manager Steve Bruce said: “A goalscorer is so crucial to any team, but Abel’s the first to know that the team behind him has provided the chances to him.
“His hat-trick in the last home fixture was superb and long may that continue.”
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “Hernandez’s first half hat-trick against Charlton Athletic in January was a tremendous display in centre-forward play.
“The second goal – a superb finish from outside of the area – was the highlight of a month where he set himself apart as the most influential player in the league in January.”
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
