Chesterfield striker Jay O’Shea has been named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for November.
Standing out in a side mired in the relegation places is not easy, but that is what O’Shea did in November.Naturally talented, he created chances for others and scored four goals, which included a superb free-kick against Bristol Rovers.
Chesterfield manager, Danny Wilson, said: "It is a fitting reward for Jay, who had an excellent month. His goals helped us to back-to-back league victories, which gave the team a great boost."
O’Shea said: "I am honoured to have been chosen to win the award. I was very pleased with my form in November but, more importantly, it was great that we managed to pick up a number of wins."
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Six goals in November set Jay apart in Sky Bet League One, and it’s no surprise to see six invaluable points picked up in that period too.
“As we’ve seen so many times before, if you’re struggling to get results and find yourself at the wrong end of the table, a man who can get you goals is in invaluable asset and one that Chesterfield will have to hope stays fit.”
