Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for November.
Given freedom to go forward this season, Lansbury is taking full advantage of his more advanced position. An assured and consistent driving force for Forest, he excelled in the 5-2 win at Barnsley with the first hat-trick of his career.
Nottingham Forest manager, Philippe Montanier, said: “I am delighted for Henri as his mentality on the training pitch and in matches is fantastic.
“He is one of many captains that we have and he has led by example; hopefully this good form can continue for the rest of the season.
“He is an excellent professional, providing great leadership on the pitch but also in the dressing room as he is a great role model for the younger players coming through at the club.”
Lansbury said: "It is fantastic to be given this award and to be recognised for the hard work that has gone in over the last month.
"The award may have been given to me but it is recognition for the hard work that the whole team has put in to turn things around and go unbeaten in November.
"It is now up to us to maintain this form and keep picking up points, starting with the game against Derby on Sunday."
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Lansbury’s leadership and quality were epitomised by the hat-trick he scored in the 5-2 win over Barnsley, to help pull them away from the danger zone.
"There was no disguising the fact that Forest had really been struggling this season but Lansbury’s performances have been key to the 7 points they picked up in November to ease them away from the bottom three. With his contract up at the end of the season, if I were Forest, I'd offer him a deal that he couldn't refuse, as he is such a key player for them.”
