The winners of the Sky Bet Manager and Player of the Month awards for November 2016/17 have been announced.
Derby County boss Steve McLaren swooped the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award in his first full month back in charge of the Rams.McClaren’s side took nine points from a possible nine as they climbed from 19th to ninth, and to within two points of the Play-Off spots.
As for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month, that award also made its way to the East Midlands, but this time to Nottingham Forest.
Midfielder Henri Lansbury won the honour for November, where his crowning moment was a first career hat-trick in the 5-2 rout of Barnsley.
In Sky Bet League One, Scunthorpe United boss Graham Alexander was recognised as Manager of the Month, after guiding the Iron to 10 points and three clean sheets. It was a third nomination of the season for Alexander, whose team still sit atop the standings.
The Sky Bet League One Player of the Month went to Chesterfield’s Jay O’Shea. The 28-year-old reaped havoc in November, scoring four times and creating plenty of chances for his team-mates.
Wycombe Wanderers’ Gareth Ainsworth collected the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award on this occasion, having impressively led the Choirboys from 21st up to sixth in the table throughout November, courtesy of four successive victories.
Last, but certainly not least, Grimsby Town frontman Omar Bogle was named Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month. His seven goals contained everything expected from a top EFL striker - tap-ins, headers, one-on-one finishes and even goals from range.
