Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 43 review

19 April 2016

Shaun Derry’s Cambridge United recorded the result of the night in Sky Bet League 2, thumping Morecambe 7-0 on Matchday 43.

The impressive victory saw Shaun Derry's U’s move five points off the top seven.

AFC Wimbledon are the team in the lowest Play-Off place, and they beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0.

Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers and Plymouth are the three other teams in the Play-Offs, and they all endured differing results.

While Pompey lost 3-1 at York City, the Gas drew 0-0 at Stevenage and Plymouth won 3-1 on the road at Leyton Orient.

That result for the Minstermen saw them stave off relegation for at least another few days.

Accrington Stanley moved up to second by beating Hartlepool United 2-1, and Oxford United are third after drawing 1-1 at Newport County.

Champions Northampton Town, meanwhile, moved on to 92 points by beating Crawley Town 2-1.
