Sky Bet Football League midweek review

12 April 2016

Middlesbrough returned to the top of the Sky Bet Championship following their late winner over Reading at the Riverside Stadium.

With the score at 1-1 going into injury time Adam Forshaw found the bottom corner to ensure Aitor Karanka's side go two points clear of Burnley at the summit.

In the other game in the Sky Bet Championship ten man Leeds United beat Birmingham City 2-1 with Stuart Dallas scoring twice.

In Sky Bet League 1 Walsall produced an excellent second half display to beat Gillingham 2-1 at Priestfield.

Milan Lalkovic and Jordi Hiwula found the net in the space of ten minutes to take a commanding lead, with an impressive strike from Luke Norris coming too late in the day for the hosts.

Barnsley are now just three points behind Justin Edinburgh's men who are now sixth, while Walsall move up to third.

Luton Town beat Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0 in Sky Bet League 2 while Jon Stead's second half goal was enough to see Notts County defeat Hartlepool United 1-0.
