The nominations for the Championship Player of the Month award for March.
Mirco Antenucci (Leeds United)
The Italian ended his scoring drought in style with four goals in as many games after none since November. He did it with a typical flourish, too, highlighted by a clever flicked finish, then a curler for his brace against Bolton Wanderers.
Lee Frecklington (Rotherham United)
A stamina-sapping month for the box-to-box midfielder who ignored a calf strain to play a hugely influential part in Rotherham’s revival. Barely training between games, he still found the energy to drive forward to score the winner over Middlesbrough.
Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday)
The heartbeat of a Wednesday defence which conceded just a single goal in four March games. Positionally aware, a timer of tackles and a fine reader of play, he also proved his value at corners with a headed opener against Charlton Athletic.
Sam Vokes (Burnley)
Powerful in the air and finally back to full fitness and his mobile best, Vokes has led the front line magnificently since January, pulling defenders out of position at will. His four goals included a picture-book header against Wolves.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
