There was drama aplenty in the Final Third Development this week with Morecambe and Notts County recording victories.
Here's a round-up of all the Final Third Development League matches played since 14th April.Final Third Development League – West
Bradford City needed only a point to wrap up the West Division title but they were beaten 1-0 by rock-bottom Morecambe.
The Bantams are three points clear at the summit but the Shrimps came out on top, thanks to a solitary goal in the 80th minute.
That was Bradford's second defeat of the season, but they can still wrap up the West Division title – they need one point from their next two games.
Final Third Development League – East
The drama this week came at the Proact Stadium, where second-placed Notts County won an action-packed match against leaders Chesterfield.
The Magpies were 2-0 to the good when they decided to bring on veteran goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington at right-back but, after the Spireites had clawed one back, he was forced to don the gloves with Roy Carroll being sent off.
Chesterfield then got themselves a penalty, but Pilkington kept it out, before County grabbed another goal and won it 3-1 to move within a point of the table-toppers.
In the other East Division match, Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Blundell Park.
Jack Dyche celebrated signing a professional contract with the Iron by opening the scoring, only for the Mariners to grab a last-gasp leveller.
Final Third Development League Cup
Middlesbrough set up a semi-final against Burnley by beating Gateshead, but it wasn't all plain sailing.
Arnel Jakupovic had Boro 2-0 up but the Heed pulled themselves level thanks to David Carson and Joe Hailes. Jakupovic took it up a notch, though, and grabbed two more goals, alongside a Nathan McGinley strike, to win the game 5-2.
