Wigan Athletic were the big winners in the Final Third Development League as they beat Morecambe 7-1 in the West Division.

Here's a round-up of all the Final Third Development League matches played since 7th April.

Final Third Development League - West

The first team are going well at the top of Sky Bet League 1, and Wigan's development squad were at it this week when they thumped Morecambe 7-1. Sam Cosgrove took the match ball; Sanmi Odelusi bagged a brace, while Andy Kellett and Alex Lingard also scored.

Bradford City also picked up three points in the West, seeing off Shrewsbury Town 3-1. Sam Wright's opener was cancelled out by an own goal, before apprentice duo Ellis Hudson and Sumaili Cissa netted to secure the win.

Final Third Development League - South

We also had two games in the South, with league leaders Bournemouth claiming three points at Gillingham courtesy of a 4-2 victory. That result put the Cherries five points clear having played a game more than their closest challengers.

The other game in the South, between AFC Wimbledon and Leyton Orient, finished goalless.

Final Third Development League - East

The East Division's action was split over two days, and two 2-1 wins were recorded on Tuesday before two 1-1 draws on Wednesday.

Leaders Chesterfield were victors thanks to a late show against Rotherham United. Goals from George Milner and Dion Donohue in the final four minutes of their encounter saw them come from behind to take the points.

Doncaster Rovers were the other team to win, and they also came from behind, to beat Gateshead in the north east. Joe Pugh bagged a brace in the final 15 minutes to cancel out the Heed's opener.

Notts County trail leaders Chesterfield by four points after drawing with rock-bottom Scunthorpe United, while Grimsby Town and Hartlepool United also shared the spoils.
