Final Third Development League - East

As March came to a close there were victories for Hartlepool United, Rotherham United and Chesterfield.

Hartlepool defeated Grimsby Town 2-1 with Connor Smith grabbing both goals, the Millers won by the same score with Andrew Shinnie and Christopher Burke on target.

Chesterfield's win was a little more convincing, beating Scunthorpe United 4-0 thanks to strikes from Jake Orrell, Laurence Maguire, Rai Simons and Callum Greaves.

The Iron suffered a second successive defeat this week, losing 3-1 to Gateshead while the Spireites had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Grimsby.

Hartlepool kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers.

Final Third Development League - South

Two games were postponed last week with Luton Town's game against Cambridge, and Southend's match against AFC Wimbledon, both postponed.

However this week two games did go ahead with Gillingham defeating the Dons 3-2 and Luton Town beating Southend 3-1. Alex Atkinson, Isaac Galliford and Zane Banton with the goals.

Final Third Development League - West

Walsall beat Morecambe 3-0 last week, but the result of the day belonged to Wigan Athletic who put eight goals past Burton Albion in an 8-1 win.

Haris Vuckic netted a hat-trick with Craig Davies and Sam Cosgrove also finding the net.

Elsewhere Shrewsbury Town beat Port Vale 4-1 and Bradford City defeated Wrexham 2-0. 

Earlier this week the Brewers responded well to losing at Wigan, beating Morecambe 6-0 while the Latics drew 2-2 with Bradford City.
