Aden Flint set for 100th consecutive start for Bristol City

5 April 2016

Bristol City centre-back Aden Flint could record landmark achievement in tonight's Sky Bet Championship tie against Rotherham United at Ashton Gate.

The 26-year-old has been an ever present in the Bristol City defence since joining the club in the summer of 2013 from Swindon Town, having begun his career in non-league with Alfreton Town.

Interestingly, his first goal for City game against Swindon in a Sky Bet League 1 encounter on 21st September 2013, however Flint was on the losing side that day as his new club fell to a 3-2 defeat at the County Ground.

During the 2014/15 campaign, in which the Robins won the Sky Bet League 1 title and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Flint clocked up 57 appearances, scoring a hat-trick on the last day of the season as Bristol City recorded a convincing 8-2 win over Walsall.

Should Flint start this evening's game it will see him complete an incredible 100-game run which has seen him play every minute of every fixture.

Speaking to Bristol City PlayerHD he said: “To get to 100 consecutive starts is a good milestone.

“Maybe you see goalkeepers managing that feat, but not many outfield players. Hopefully I’ll get another start against Rotherham to bring up the landmark 100.

“There have been some of the best moments of my career in those games, and some not so good ones too, but it’s a good landmark with some happy memories."
