Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month nominations - August

1 September 2015

The nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month award for August.

Barry Corr (Cambridge United)
Injury restricted the Irishman to three games in August but five goals for his new club helped them to seven of their eight points. His intimidating presence sometimes overshadows the technique which pulled off a stunning volley at AFC Wimbledon.

Dean Cox (Leyton Orient)
Cox was the general behind Orient’s perfect record in August. Given a free, all-action role at the tip of a midfield diamond, his energy and creative nous were evident in his five assists and a pinpoint free-kick against Dagenham & Redbridge, which was one of his two goals.

Jabo Ibehre (Carlisle United)
Seven goals in five games (nine in all competitions) meant that Cumbria has fallen in love with its new striker Ibehre. He was always in the right place during August; never more so than with the hat-trick he scored in the 4-4 draw against Cambridge United (image credit: Mark Fuller).

Aaron Pierre (Wycombe Wanderers)
Pierre had an outstanding month as the fulcrum of a defence which kept four clean sheets in five games, made more impressive by the fact he did so with four different partners at centre-back. He was equally adept carrying the ball forward, and he scored against Morecambe and Dagenham.

The winners will be announced on Friday.
