Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 10 review

29 September 2015

Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe Wanderers are the new Sky Bet League 2 leaders, following their 1-0 win over Cambridge United on Matchday 10.

Michael Harriman’s screamer was enough to guide the Chairboys to victory, and that moved them up to the summit following Portsmouth’s first defeat of the season, at the hands of Exeter City.

Goals from David Wheeler and Arron Davies saw the Grecians claim the three points at Fratton Park in a 2-1 victory, and it was their first success at Portsmouth in 92 years.

Elsewhere, Luton Town won the Eric Morecambe Trophy match against Morecambe, courtesy of a 3-1 scoreline, and Plymouth Argyle came from behind to beat Barnet 2-1 and move up to second.

Accrington Stanley are fourth after winning their fourth game in succession, against Yeovil Town, overtaking Leyton Orient, who fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Carlisle United.

At the foot of the division, Crawley Town won 3-0 against Newport County in the battle between the bottom two, to rise to 21st.
