The nominations for the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month award for August.
Adam Armstrong (Coventry City)Five goals in as many games added up to a stunning impact by the 18-year-old, who is on loan from Newcastle United. What impressed as much was his calm assurance and belief - evident in a 30-yard chip in the 4-0 win at Millwall.
Bradley Dack (Gillingham)
Given a role behind the front two, the 21-year-old responded in style in August, stretching opponents with his running, energy and passing, taking set pieces and scoring four goals, including a sweeping angled strike against Sheffield United.
Sam Mantom (Walsall)
Sidelined by a knee injury for all but 12 games last season, the 23-year-old has blossomed so far this campaign. His passing ability and reading of the game creates chances for others, while he also scored in each of Walsall’s three away wins.
Jim McNulty (Rochdale)
Brought in to stabilise a leaky defence, the 30-year-old has done exactly that in his own no-nonsense style. A throwback to the centre halves of old, he headed, tackled and blocked so well that Dale conceded just two goals all month.
The winners will be announced on Friday.
