Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 7 review

12 September 2015

Gillingham preserved their unbeaten start in Sky Bet League 1 with a hard-fought win over Blackpool, thanks to Bradley Dack's winner.

The Gills' top scorer struck his sixth in all competitions to give his side a 2-1 win, after a Ryan Jackson own goal cancelled out Doug Loft's opener.

The day's big winners were Peterborough United, who romped to a 5-1 win at Oldham Athletic under the caretaker management of Grant McCann.

Following that defeat, Oldham announced the departure of Darren Kelly, with the Latics sitting 19th in the table after seven games.

Despite Chesterfield having Drew Talbot sent off early on, the Spireites managed to get themselves into a 3-1 lead over Colchester United, only for the winless U's to grab a point in stoppage time.

There was late drama at Vale Park too, where Port Vale took maximum points through Uche Ikpeazu's strike after Wigan had fought back from two goals down.

Elsewhere, Burton climbed to third in the table with a 1-0 win over Rochdale, while Aiden O'Brien grabbed his first senior hat-trick as Millwall triumphed 3-1 at Crewe.
