Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 6 review

Gillingham moved to the top of the Sky Bet League 1 table with a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers on matchday 6.

Justin Edinburgh’s men scored their winner in the second half, with Jake Hessenthaler netting the decisive goal. 

Elsewhere, Blackpool finally ended their wait for an away triumph by beating Scunthorpe United 1-0. Brad Potts’ goal was enough to see them to victory, which was their first on their travels since April 2014.

Southend United, Shrewsbury Town and Chesterfield also picked three points, while Coventry City jumped up to second place in the table after beating Burton Albion 2-1 at the Pirelli Stadium on Sunday.
