Sky Bet Championship: Matchday 9 review

27 September 2015

Sky Bet Championship leaders Brighton & Hove Albion remain top of the table, but dropped two points late on in a 2-2 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

Dale Stephens and Jamie Murphy netted inside four first-half minutes for the Seagulls but Bolton, who only have one win all season to their name, fought back through goals from Neil Danns and Gary Madine.

In the first of Saturday's kick-offs, Derby County left it late to record a 3-1 win at Milton Keynes Dons, with summer signings Darren Bent and Tom Ince striking in the closing stages to secure their third consecutive away victory.

There were also wins on the road for Rotherham United - their second victory in succession - at Birmingham City, and for Sheffield Wednesday and Reading.

On Sunday, Middlesbrough recorded a 3-0 triumph over Leeds United to close the gap at the top of the table to one point.
