Sheffield United fight back to claim point at Bradford City

20 September 2015

Sheffield United came from two goals down to share the spoils with Bradford City in an entertaining Yorkshire derby.

In Sunday's lunchtime clash at Valley Parade, Bradford started the brighter but they had to wait 33 minutes for a breakthrough - James Meredith netting his first goal since October 2012.

That was the score at half-time, but the Bantams didn't have to wait long to double their lead. Devante Cole pressured the Blades defence, and David Edgar's attempted clearance bounced off Cole and into the net.

Nigel Adkins' Blades were not down and out however, and Chris Basham halved the deficit 20 minutes into the second period.

Just minutes later and parity was restored. Billy Sharp's first effort was saved, but he had a second bite at the cherry and made no mistake to make it 2-2.

Both sides could have won it late on, first with Edgar denied by Brad Jones, and then James Hanson having a header cleared off the line with almost the last action of the game.
