Blackpool manager Neil McDonald was proud of his Blackpool players as they recorded their first win of the new campaign on Saturday. The Tangerines recorded a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Scunthorpe United to climb off the bottom of Sky Bet League 1 and, with that result, ended an unwanted winless streak on the road stretching back to April 2014.
Speaking to the club's official website, McDonald beamed: “The players stood strong, we played some decent football when we could and we certainly defended a lot better.
“We’ve got our first three points and we’ve had our first clean sheet. That’s given everybody confidence in the changing room to move on, and move on to better things hopefully.”

Brad Potts scored the winner at Glanford Park with his first goal for the club, and the midfielder echoed the sentiments of his boss.
“It’s not nice going in on Monday morning after you’ve been beaten, but this gets the monkey off our backs. The lads will be buzzing this week and it will make the place a lot happier,” said the 21-year-old.
“I’m over the moon. We’ve showed in patches in a few of the games what we can do, it was just about getting results and getting goals.”
