Neil Harris 'relieved' as Millwall record first home victory

28 September 2015

Millwall manager Neil Harris expressed relief after his Millwall side picked up their first home points of the Sky Bet League 1 campaign.

The Lions had lost their opening four games at The Den, with a Johnstone's Paint Trophy success over Peterborough United the only solace – until Saturday's 3-1 success over Rochdale.

"[The home form] has been difficult. Not just for me, my staff and my squad, but for the fans. I understand that," Harris told Millwall's official website.

"But as a group we've not felt pressurised that we have not won at home. We knew it was coming but I must admit it is a bit of a relief to get it today."

The triumph means Millwall now have nine points from their last four games, and they face another stern test at Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.

"It's another massive step forward for us and what we can't do now is take two step backwards, or even a quarter of a step back," the 38-year-old continued.

"We've got to go on against Wigan and take the game to them."
