Leyton Orient midfielder Dean Cox has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for August.
Cox was the general behind Orient’s perfect record in August. Given a free, all-action role at the tip of a midfield diamond, his energy and creative nous were evident as he claimed his five assists.The diminutive midfielder also scored two goals during the first month of the season, including a stunning free-kick against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Orient manager Ian Hendon said: “I am really pleased that Dean has picked up this award. He plays a vital role in our team with his goals and the chances he has created for his team-mates.
“He has produced some fine performances throughout the month and it is great for both the club and the team to have won both awards for the month.”
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “Dean Cox has reinvigorated this Leyton Orient side and looks dangerous every time he touches the ball.

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month is chaired by former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, along with Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
