Steven Pressley set to take on former club Coventry City in first game as Fleetwood Town manager

9 October 2015

Steven Pressley returns to a Sky Bet League 1 dugout this weekend in his new role as Fleetwood Town boss, and he'll be up against rather familiar opposition.

The 41-year-old welcomes his former employers Coventry City to Highbury on Saturday, the club he managed for almost two years between 2013 and 2015.

STEVEN PRESSLEY: “The scenarios football produce are amazing. I’m looking forward to Saturday as @Coventry_City are a form team." #codarmy

In that time, he took charge of 100 matches, winning 32, drawing 30 and losing 38 - leaving him with a 32 per cent win rate. The Scot also had a spell as a player with the Sky Blues, in the 1994/95 season.

Pressley now replaces Graham Alexander at the helm of the Cod Army following a disappointing run of results. Fleetwood sit 23rd in the table with just nine points from their opening 11 games, and haven't won in seven outings - losing in the last four.

Coventry, on the flip side, are operating in the top six of the table - in fifth - but have won and lost in equal measure (twice) in each of their last four.
