Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 15 preview

23 October 2015

After a full midweek schedule, all 24 Sky Bet League 2 teams are back in action on Saturday afternoon.

Defeat for league leaders Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night tightened the pack even further, and Derek Adams takes his team to Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

Here's a look at the League 2 weekend schedule:

Saturday 24th October

Accrington Stanley v Dagenham & Redbridge
Bristol Rovers v Newport County
Exeter City v Notts County
Hartlepool United v Crawley Town
Luton Town v Plymouth Argyle
Morecambe v Leyton Orient
Northampton Town v Stevenage
Oxford United v Barnet
Portsmouth v Mansfield Town
Wycombe Wanderers v Carlisle United
Yeovil Town v Cambridge United
York City v AFC Wimbledon

Luton are 13th in Sky Bet League 2 ahead of their weekend clash with table-topping Plymouth, but this fixture last year helped to kick-start the Hatters' season, despite the Pilgrims coming out on top.

The two who can steal Plymouth's place at the summit are Portsmouth and Oxford, and both clubs have home advantage this weekend. Oxford host Barnet, while Pompey face Mansfield, who are fourth and will leapfrog Paul Cook's charges with victory.

There's a battle between sixth and seventh with Leyton Orient visiting Morecambe for the first time, and this could be an entertaining one - matches involving the Shrimps have produced more goals than any other in The Football League this term.

Speaking of entertainment, Yeovil and Cambridge United meet this weekend having produced 21 goals from their four previous Football League meetings, and the Glovers have won the lot.

Elswhere, Bristol Rovers face Newport having only encountered each other twice before, with both sides picking up one win each in 2013/14, while Saturday also sees just the third meeting between Hartlepool and Crawley.

Wycombe have lost three on the spin ahead of their match against Carlisle; York are without a win in eight and face Wimbledon, and Exeter - who picked up three points on Wednesday night - take on Notts County.

Finally, fifth-placed Northampton welcome Stevenage to Sixfields, and Dagenham visit Accrington on the back of a seven-game unbeaten streak against Stanley.
