Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 16 review

31 October 2015

Walsall moved back to the summit of Sky Bet League 1 on Matchday 16 after coming from behind to beat Gillingham 3-2.

Goals from Cody McDonald and Bradley Dack had the Gills 2-0 to the good, but Walsall were level before the break and then won it in injury-time thanks to a Jason Demetriou effort.

Coventry City also overturned a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 against Peterborough United. Adam Armstrong was the key man for the Sky Blues, scoring twice.

Another comeback saw Rochdale claim a point at Southend United after falling 2-0 behind, while Bury beat Blackpool 4-3 to move up to sixth.

Level on points with Bury are Wigan - the fifth-placed Latics beat Swindon Town 1-0 thanks to Francisco Junior’s injury-time winner.

Crewe Alexandra recorded the result of the day in The Football League by seeing off Sheffield United 1-0, for their first home win since March - a run of 14 winless games.
