Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 15 review

24 October 2015

The game of the day came at Colchester United, where the U's and Walsall shared the spoils in an eight-goal thriller.

In a topsy-turvy affair in Essex, a late equaliser from James O'Connor secured a point for the Saddlers.

Gillingham failed to extend their lead at the top of Sky Bet League 1 but were were also thankful for a late goal - Doug Loft's 89th-minute effort earned the Gills a point at home to Southend.

Burton came out on top 2-0 against Port Vale to claim the bragging rights in Staffordshire, a scoreline matched by Blackpool and Shrewsbury, who hosted Crewe and Bury respectively.

There was no happy return to London Road for Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson, who watched his new Rovers side fall to a 4-0 defeat against his former employers, Peterborough United.

Millwall won the day's early kick-off with an Aiden O'Brien brace helping the Lions to all three points at Sheffield United, and Reice Charles-Cook's Coventry City goal was finally breached as the Sky Blues let a two-goal lead slip to draw with Swindon Town.
