Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 15 preview

23 October 2015

All 24 teams from Sky Bet League 1 are in action this Saturday afternoon with Gillingham on top of the pile going into Matchday 15.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, the Gills came from behind to win 2-1 against Scunthorpe United midweek, with Harry Lennon scoring the vital winner in injury time, and they now host Southend United.

Here are all the fixtures in Sky Bet League 1 this weekend; all with a 3pm kick-off unless stated otherwise:

Saturday 24th October

Sheffield United v Millwall (12:15pm)
Barnsley v Fleetwood Town
Blackpool v Crewe Alexandra
Bradford City v Wigan Athletic
Burton Albion v Port Vale
Chesterfield v Scunthorpe United
Colchester United v Walsall
Gillingham v Southend United
Peterborough United v Doncaster Rovers
Rochdale v Oldham Athletic
Shrewsbury Town v Bury
Swindon Town v Coventry City

Gillingham are unbeaten in five and possess The Football League's best home form – collecting 19 points from a possible 21 - ahead of hosting Southend, who are eighth following five victories in seven.

The action all starts when Sheffield United play Millwall in an early kick-off, for the first time since the sides drew 1-1 four years ago.

Elsewhere, Barnsley and Swindon Town have both lost four on the spin to languish towards the bottom of Sky Bet League 1, and they entertain Fleetwood Town and Coventry City respectively.

Fleetwood actually sit below Barnsley in the table and, after a confidence-boosting 4-0 win over Burton last weekend, they were brought back down to earth with a 3-0 loss at Sheffield United on Tuesday.

Coventry, meanwhile, are fourth and unbeaten in four matches. That form is largely down to young goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook, who has kept four successive clean sheets in the league prior to this weekend.
