Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 14 review

20 October 2015

Gillingham netted a last-gasp winner against Scunthorpe United to win 2-1 and stay top of Sky Bet League 1.

The Gills fell behind to the Iron but completed a remarkable turnaround despite being reduced to 10 men, with Harry Lennon scoring the all-important winner in injury time.

Second-placed Walsall also tasted success, beating Barnsley 2-0, while Wigan Athletic moved to the brink of the Play-Off places thanks to a 3-2 victory over Peterborough United.

At the other end, Darren Ferguson’s first win as Doncaster Rovers manager - a 2-1 triumph against Shrewsbury Town - moved them out of the bottom four.

Blackpool’s resurgence also continued as they drew 1-1 with Millwall to go four games unbeaten, but they remain in the relegation zone.

Swindon Town are down to 23rd after losing for the fourth match on the spin. They suffered a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Oldham Athletic, which was David Dunn’s first victory as the Latics’ boss.
