Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 13 preview

15 October 2015

All 24 teams from Sky Bet League 1 are in action on Saturday afternoon, and it's Walsall who lead the pack going into Matchday 13.

The Saddlers moved to the summit after defeating Burton Albion last weekend and now face Chesterfield, while the Brewers have the chance to bounce back with a visit to struggling Fleetwood Town.

Here are all the fixtures in Sky Bet League 1 this weekend, all with a 3pm kick-off:

Saturday 17th October

Bury v Rochdale
Coventry City v Blackpool
Crewe Alexandra v Gillingham
Doncaster Rovers v Bradford City
Fleetwood Town v Burton Albion
Millwall v Swindon Town
Oldham Athletic v Sheffield United
Port Vale v Peterborough United
Scunthorpe United v Shrewsbury Town
Southend United v Barnsley
Walsall v Chesterfield
Wigan Athletic v Colchester United

Walsall are six games unbeaten in the league and September was a very good month for defender Rico Henry, who received The Football League Young Player of the Month award earlier this week.

Burton's visit to Fleetwood will be the club's first meeting since the League 2 Play-Off Final in 2014, when the Cod Army ran out 1-0 winners at Wembley.

The same goes for Millwall and Swindon, who lock horns at The Den on Saturday. The pair last met in 2010 at the national stadium, and a Paul Robinson goal sent the Lions to the Championship.

Port Vale and Peterborough go head-to-head this weekend and this is one for the Alnwick family to enjoy, as goalkeeping brothers Jak and Ben come up against each other at Vale Park.

Rochdale will travel just a handful of miles on Saturday afternoon to face neighbours Bury, who are the division's form team with 19 points from the last available 21, and Blackpool make the trip to Coventry after picking up back-to-back wins for the first time in two years.

Elsewhere, Oldham host Sheffield United in a fixture which has produced five draws from the past six, Shrewsbury go to Scunthorpe, who they haven't overcome in 13 matches - a run dating back to 1998 and Doncaster Rovers will host Bradford City in their first match since the appointment of Darren Ferguson.
