Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 12 review

10 October 2015

Walsall are the new Sky Bet League 1 leaders after they beat previous table-toppers Burton Albion 2-0.

In what was their first ever competitive meeting with Burton, the Saddlers knew a victory would lift them above their opponents and they secured the result with goals from Liam Kinsella and Tom Bradshaw.

In an action-packed day, a number of clubs fought back to pick up points, including Wigan Athletic, Scunthorpe United and Shrewsbury Town.

The Latics were 2-0 down at Bury but drew 2-2, Scunthorpe won for the first time on the road with a 4-2 success at Oldham Athletic, and Shrewsbury also won by that scoreline, in the result of the day.
