Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 11 review

3 October 2015

Burton Albion restored a three-point advantage at the top of Sky Bet League 1 with a 1-0 win over Southend United.

A Luke Prosser own goal handed the Brewers the points as they maintained their impressive start to life in the third tier.

An eight-goal thriller ensued at London Road, where Peterborough United overcame Millwall 5-3 with Graham Westley picking up his first home victory since taking charge.

Bury won the battle of the division's two form teams; Leon Clarke's winner sent the Shakers up to third in the table.

Adam Armstrong bagged a brace for Coventry City to help them defeat Shrewsbury Town 3-0. That feat was matched by Gillingham's Rory Donnelly and Oldham Athetic's Michael Higdon as the two teams shared out six goals at the Priestfield Stadium.

Elswhere, Blackpool overcame Swindon Town 1-0 to win back-to-back games for the first time since September 2013, and managerless Fleetwood Town also lost by a solitary goal at Scunthorpe United.
