Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 11 preview

2 October 2015

Sky Bet League 1 returns for its 11th round of action this weekend, with 12 fixtures kicking-off simultaneously on Saturday.

It follows an intriguing round of midweek games on Tuesday, that saw 34 goals hit the back of the net.

Here are all of the weekend Sky Bet League 1 fixtures at a glace (kick-off is 3pm unless stated):

Blackpool v Swindon Town
Burton Albion v Southend United
Colchester United v Bury
Coventry City v Shrewsbury Town
Crewe Alexandra v Chesterfield
Doncaster Rovers v Barnsley
Gillingham v Oldham Athletic
Peterborough United v Millwall
Port Vale v Sheffield United
Rochdale v Bradford City
Scunthorpe United v Fleetwood Town
Wigan Athletic v Walsall

Table-toppers Burton Albion will play at their Pirelli Stadium home for the second time this week when they host Southend United.

The Brewers drew at home to sixth-placed Sheffield United on Tuesday, in a game that saw them drop points for the first time in four matches.

Walsall, following two draws, returned to winning ways on Matchday 10 to close the gap at the top back to one point, and they face a trip to Wigan Athletic.

Gillingham bounced back in style from consecutive defeats, the first of which was their opening loss of the season, beating Fleetwood Town 5-1, and welcome an Oldham Athletic side with just one win to their name all season to Priestfield Stadium.

Fleetwood parted company with manager Graham Alexander following that heavy defeat, and will go to Scunthorpe United this weekend without a permanent first-team manager in charge.

From managers who have departed to those recently appointed, and Graham Westley's Peterborough United clash with Millwall after one win and one loss in his first two games at the helm.

Blackpool, who won their first home game since January in midweek, will get the opportunity to record three points again at Bloomfield Road, when they host a Swindon Town side who haven't triumphed in any of their last four.

High-flying Bury, Rochdale and Sheffield United play Colchester United, Bradford City and Port Vale respectively, and Coventry City lock horns with Shrewsbury Town at the Ricoh Arena.
