Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month nominations - September

7 October 2015

The nominations for the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month award for September.

Phil Brown (Southend United)

A slow start to life in Sky Bet League 1 following promotion didn't deviate Brown from his principles as Southend climbed to mid-table with four wins in five games, not conceding more than one goal in any September fixture.

David Flitcroft (Bury)

Flitcroft oversaw a perfect month at Gigg Lane with Bury securing five successive victories. What made that all the more impressive was the difficulty of their fixture list which included trips to Sheffield United, Walsall and Peterborough United.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Burton Albion)

Hasselbaink led Burton to the top of Sky Bet League 1 for the first time in the club's 65-year history. He has instilled a calm belief and an organisation that allowed his team to collect 10 points from five games, keeping three clean sheets on the way.

Tony Humes (Colchester United)

Humes built on the springtime momentum which saw the Essex club escape relegation with thrilling attacking play. By adding experience to a youthful core, his side picked up 13 points from five games, scoring 12 goals in the process.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
