Johnstone's Paint Trophy: Round 2 preview

6 October 2015

Round 2 of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy takes place this week, with 32 teams battling it out to keep their Wembley dreams alive.

Morecambe earned the Team of the Round award in the first stage after defeating an in-form side from Sky Bet League 1 - Walsall - and they will need to the same again when visiting Bury, who have won seven successive games in all competitions.

Other sides from Sky Bet League 2 making trips to higher-tier opposition are Notts County, Northampton Town and Luton Town, who face Sheffield United, Millwall and Gillingham respectively.

The Round 2 draw also renews two rivalries - Plymouth Argyle will host fellow Devon outfit Exeter City on the south coast, while Oxford United face off against fierce foes Swindon Town at the Kassam Stadium.

Stevenage versus Dagenham & Redbridge is the only one of the 16 midweek ties not to be played on Tuesday - they will bring the round to a close on Wednesday night.
