Football is littered with relations, and this weekend will see the Alnwick brothers go up against each other in Sky Bet League 1.Jak, 22, plays in goal for Port Vale and he is the younger brother of Peterborough United stopper Ben – the Valiants host Posh at Vale Park at 3pm on Saturday.
Both brothers are looking forward to the occasion, but believe it's a more significant day for their father.
“It’ll be a good day for the family,” Jak, who this week signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal, told port-vale.co.uk.
“My dad usually goes to one game and then the other so for us both to be playing together it’s probably what he’s dreamt of.
“It’ll be a weird occasion but I’m going to treat it as I would a normal game.”
Brother Ben echoed those sentiments by insisting that it's just another match for him.
"I don't want to get wrapped up in facing my brother. I still want to win. Nothing changes. For me, it has to be just another game."
Peterborough go into the game after an improvement of form under new boss Graham Westley. They've won three of their last four, and are three points from the Play-Offs.
Vale, meanwhile, are a point behind them, after four wins, four draws and four defeats this term.
