24 November 2015

Carlisle United won at Luton Town for the first time in 43 years in the most dramatic of circumstances on Matchday 19 in Sky Bet League 2.

Keith Curle’s Cumbrians were 3-1 down on the hour mark at Kenilworth Road but turned it around to triumph 4-3, with Derek Asamoah netting a late winner.

While seven goals were scored there, Portsmouth hit six at Fratton Park to thump 10-man York City 6-0. Marc McNulty inspired the victory, scoring a hat-trick.

That result moved Pompey up to fourth, and they trail third-placed Northampton Town by four points after the Cobblers won 2-1 at Crawley Town.

The top two drew, meanwhile - Oxford United, who are second, shared the points with Newport County and leaders Plymouth Argyle drew 1-1 with Leyton Orient.

At the other end of the table, Yeovil Town prop up the division following a 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers, and York slipped into the bottom two after their loss at Pompey.

Dagenham & Redbridge are up to 22nd, out of the relegation zone, having won 1-0 at AFC Wimbledon - their second victory of 2015/16.

Elsewhere, Accrington Stanley’s match against Hartlepool United was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
