Oxford United thumped Stevenage 5-1 to move up to second in Sky Bet League 2 on Matchday 16.
Ryan Taylor opened the scoring before Chris Whelpdale levelled, but the U’s pulled away as Taylor found the net again, alongside Liam Sercombe, Alex MacDonald and Kemar Roofe. The division is still topped by Plymouth Argyle, and they possess a healthy five-point cushion over Oxford following a 2-0 victory at home to Morecambe.
Portsmouth are third and lost 2-1 at Notts County; and John Coleman's Accrington Stanley are now level on points with Pompey after they won 1-0 at Leyton Orient.
Carlisle United came from 2-0 down to dramatically beat Yeovil Town 3-2, while Newport County also fought back from two goals down, to draw with Northampton Town.
Great second half performance from the lads to come back from being 2 down. #unbelievablecharacter@officialcufc
