The nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month award for October.Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle)
Life managing in England could not have begun much better for the Scot. Fifteen points from six games in the month lifted Argyle five clear at the top of Sky Bet League 2 as they built on the strong defensive foundation laid by Adams.
Michael Appleton (Oxford United)
Appleton has quietly built an Oxford side capable of sustaining a promotion challenge. Their October surge was underpinned by seven points and 10 goals from three away games as four wins and a draw lifted them into the top two.
Chris Wilder (Northampton Town)
October was a fabulous month for Wilder when you consider the off-field distractions with which he and his players have had to contend. His side gained 13 points from six games, which included a thrilling 3-2 win at promotion rivals Wycombe Wanderers.
Mark Yates (Crawley Town)
October began with Crawley hovering precariously above the relegation places. Under Yates’ shrewd stewardship, bringing in loan signings and inspiring his players, four wins from six games meant it ended with them in mid-table.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
