Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 19 review

24 November 2015

As if the 39 goals scored at the weekend wasn’t good enough, the ball hit the back of the net an incredible 40 times in an action-packed Matchday 19 in Sky Bet League 1.

Coventry City remain at the summit of the division after drawing 0-0 with Bradford City - the only goalless match of the evening. The result means that the Bantams haven’t conceded in their last seven matches and now sit in sixth place.

Gillingham moved to within a point of the Sky Blues by beating Rochdale 2-0, thanks to goals from Bradley Dack and Adedeji Oshilaja.

Also in the top six, Burton Albion moved up to third after a win 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic, while Walsall were beaten 2-1 at Swindon Town, meaning they will go into the weekend in fourth place.

There was a dream debut for Miles Addison who scored a vital goal for Peterborough United in their 3-2 win over Barnsley, and at the foot of the table, returning striker Ryan Lowe scored a last-gasp winner for Crewe Alexandra as they came from two goals down to beat Colchester United 3-2.

Elsewhere, Shrewsbury Town were impressive 4-2 victors at Sheffield United, while Southend United saw off Oldham Athletic 5-2 to go five games unbeaten.
