Should the spoils be shared, then the Saddlers can retake the lead in League 1 with a two-goal victory over Sheffield United. It's been a tight affair over recent years, however, with four of the last five encounters between Walsall and the Blades finishing 1-1.
Burton, level on points with Dean Smith's men, were also out of action last weekend and they go to Bury, one of the sides who came up automatically with the Brewers last term.
The other pair of clubs not to feature last Saturday were Millwall, who host Colchester, and Shrewsbury, who make their first ever trip to the DW Stadium having not played Wigan since the 1993/94 season.
It's not been quite as long, but Southend and Blackpool also renew acquaintances after an extended absence. The last League clash between the coastal clubs came in 2006, and they meet in Essex on Saturday.
Barnsley have suffered eight straight league defeats, and Lee Johnson takes the out-of-form Tykes to his former employers Oldham Athletic.
