The nominations for the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month award for October.
Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic)Caldwell has taken to football management with apparent ease. He has recruited wisely and blended old and new faces into a winning side which collected 12 points from six unbeaten games, including an emphatic 5-0 win over Colchester United.
Phil Parkinson (Bradford City)
The hallmark of Parkinson's four years in charge at Bradford has been a refusal to panic during the occasional poor spells. Sticking to his principles allowed him to overcome a slow start to gain 11 points from five unbeaten games in the month.
Mark Robins (Scunthorpe United)
Only an unlucky defeat at leaders Gillingham prevented Robins from guiding Scunthorpe through a perfect month. Five wins from six games with a 13-5 goal differential demonstrated his ability to balance attacking play with pragmatism.
Dean Saunders (Chesterfield)
Bringing his ideas and introducing his methods into a settled environment was not an easy task, but Saunders' new-look Chesterfield side found their feet in October, winning four of their six games. The highlight was a 2-1 win at leaders Walsall.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
