Live on Sky Sports: Huddersfield Town v Leeds United – have no regrets, says Mark Lillis

6 November 2015

Huddersfield Town and Leeds United lock horns in Saturday's West Yorkshire derby live on Sky Sports, with the action commencing at 12.30pm.

While Leeds, 17th, are now under the stewardship of Steve Evans after his recent appointment, the 18th-placed Terriers announced David Wagner as their new head coach this week.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach won't be in the dugout for the televised Sky Bet Championship derby, though, with Academy Manager Mark Lillis on first-team duties this weekend for Town.

“Have no regrets”

Lillis certainly isn't taking his role lightly, and has urged the Huddersfield players to focus on what's at hand; a big league game against their rivals.

He told “My philosophy is never that I’m caretaker manager. I am the manager of this football club on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“If you say that to the players, there’s no comeback to that. They know that I mean business; we’re in it together. That’s the way I manage this caretaker role.

“It [the game] is a fantastic opportunity [for the players], especially as the new Head Coach is watching.

“Someone can be a hero. We’ve got to make sure everyone will be focused for the game, especially the starting 11 - but the subs are so important.

“As a young or a senior player, these are great games to play in. You’ve got to have no regrets at the end of it, whatever the result.”

Steve Evans off the mark as Leeds United manager

Leeds United beat Cardiff City 1-0 in midweek and that got Steve Evans up and running with a win as boss.
